Happy New Year

It is officially 2020! Wow.

After spending most of my life in that decade, it’s crazy to see it end. But now, it’s time for a brand new year. I’ve been sitting behind my computer telling you about my life for over a year now, and I’m glad to say it’s not ending any time soon. But anyway, onto that part where I tell you about my life. Recently, in social studies at school, we started studying Africa. It turns out that in Kenya, they speak 52 languages! In one country! I just think that’s interesting, because in the United States, we mainly speak English. Besides that, have you heard of the show American Ninja Warrior? Well, if you haven’t (why haven’t you) it’s a show where intense athletes compete on a huge, difficult obstacle course. There’s also a junior show, for incredibly talented kids to do it as well. I recently took a big interest in the sport, so I got my parents to take me to a ninja gym, which is a gym where you can practice on all of the obstacles. It was super fun, but my arms really hurt after it. It was still worth it, and I’m going back soon. That’s all I have for you right now, so happy new year.

Have a Happy Holidays

Hey everyone. So, 2019 is coming to an end soon… mind blown. It’s crazy, because the year has by so fast. I mean, the decade has gone by so fast. It’s crazy that I’ve spent most of my life in this decade. Just over a year ago I started this blog. I’m excited, because tomorrow I’m getting my advanced blue belt in karate, and I’m gonna dominate. I’m also gonna have a sleepover with my best friend who I haven’t seen in forever in a few weeks. But as a finale to my trail of good news… I’m going to Maryland for Christmas just like I do every year! At the party, one of my family members always makes SUPER good meatballs which I am really looking forward to. I hope you all have a happy holidays yourselves, and I’ll talk to you in a new decade.

Thanksgiving

I’m pretty sure I posted similarly to this last year on the 18th. If haven’t read that, check it out (self promotion alert)! It’s Thanksgiving, so it’s time to thank everyone who’s done something for you in your life. I don’t want to go too deep into that, but it’s important. So, do it. Anyway, just like I posted in The Short Week, I’ve got a five-day weekend, two- day week! I’m happy about that, which is why I won’t be talking very much about school. Either way, I will talk about something that happened after school a couple of weeks ago. So, I walk home from school three days a week with my friend, then we hang out at his house for a few minutes with his dog. Basically, what happened was this: we were sitting with his dog off the leash, and then he ran. The dog bolted down the street, and for a french bulldog with tiny legs, he runs fast. The dog ran into a man’s yard, and we had to chase him through the yard. We finally caught him, and apologized to the man who was out mowing his lawn. I know. Awkward. We thought it was over, but, two days later, can you guess what happened? Can you guess? Times up. The same thing. Except this time, he ran even farther, but luckily, a nice lady walking her dog helped us catch him. Bless her. That’s all for now, folks. Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Halloween!

Tomorrow’s Halloween, and I’m pretty excited. Last year on Halloween I didn’t go trick-or-treating, because I met Jeff Kinney! Anyway, for Halloween this year, I’m going to be an enderman (from Minecraft). I made the costume myself, and it turned out really good. There will be a Halloween party at my school, but I’m not exactly interested because, you know, dancing. Besides that, I had a Halloween party with my Girl Scout troop, and there was a hot tub, which was awesome, and I got a bunch of candy! Also, school has been fine. Today the elevator wasn’t working, and my teacher can’t climb stairs, so we had class in the staff room. On another note, it’s been surprisingly warm (and by warm, I mean 50 to 60 degrees) and it’s very odd considering the time of year and where I live. Either way, have a happy Halloween!

6th Grade

Sorry I’ve been gone for so long; I’ve just been busy. So, I’m in 6th grade now, as you’ve learned, and it’s been pretty good. Monday was the first day of Fall, so happy Fall! It’s gotten cooler outside, but not in our classrooms. It’s literally been about 80 degrees in all of the classrooms, because some one had the idea to turn the heat on early. Yay. Anyway, in school, some of my classmates volunteered to be in a play about the U.S. Constitution, so that was fun to watch. And meanwhile, me and my dad started making our real life house in Minecraft. In art class, we made our Square One projects, which is an art fundraiser that my school does. We had art class again today, and we did a group thing where we had to make a little paper person with a bunch of other kids. That’s all for now. See you later.

School..

So, I went on that trip I talked about. And, I’m back at school. Yeah. First, I’ll talk about my trip. It was fun. There was actually pretty good weather… Until we left. One of the people who was in our camp posted on Facebook a video of it pouring rain there about a half an hour after we left. After that we stayed at a nice hotel, and the next day, my dad and I went to Hershey Park! It was awesome, as you would expect, but it rained a little so they closed the water park. I got to go on one water ride, but it was freezing. Besides that, I got back to school today. I have a nice teacher, but now, since I’m in the 6th grade, everyone in the school looks up to me. The pressure is on. Look out, world, River is on the way.

Summer!

Yes, I know I haven’t posted in forever, but here’s my reasoning: It’s Summer! I just haven’t been thinking about it. Sorry! Anyway, I’ve been doing a lot of stuff, and will be very soon, so I might as well talk about it. First, I just want to get out of the way that Summer is going by way to fast. I mean, it still feels like school just ended, but in reality, I’m half way through already! Ugh. Whatever. Other than that, this Summer I turned 11, and that was fun. I got ice cream cake, as usual, and had a pool party, as usual. Either way, it was fun. I got Minecraft on my Nintendo Switch, and a stereo for my room, so I can play music. Aside from that, I had a sleepover with my friend, and went to Canobie Lake Park. At the sleepover we sprayed each other with a hose! That was nice. Finally, me and my family are going on our yearly camping trip this week. There are nice people, good food, and it’s fun! On the trip we’re also going to Hershey Park just like last year. Wow. That was a mouthful. Happy Summer.

The Last Day of School Countdown

Wow. This school year has gone by so fast. And now, without me even realizing it, there are six more days of school left! Crazy! Anyway, we practiced everything for our show today, which will be today and tomorrow. Wait, I know what you’re thinking: Hey, two days long? You never said anything about that, River! I know, I didn’t, because it’s not two days long. Let me explain. Tomorrow, we will be performing for grades kindergarten through 4th grade, and tomorrow we will be performing for our families. Get it? Yeah, okay. That’s besides the point. So, the 6th graders do some dancing, we all do some singing, and then we bow. The end. Why aren’t you clapping? Come on, clap! That’s more like it! Now, today, besides the show, it was really hot outside. I know, it’s June, what do I expect? It’s hot. But that’s pretty much it for today. Happy Monday.

It’s Finally June!

Hey everybody. It is finally June, which means school ends soon! Just about ten more days of school left! That makes me very excited, if you couldn’t tell. It was really hot today, so you can tell summer is coming very soon. I don’t know how I feel about that, because, I like swimming, and school will end, but then again, heat. So, anyway, we have a concert/show/musical coming up at school, which means.. Drum roll please? More cheesy songs!!! Ahem. But the songs aren’t that bad, which is a good thing. They even got a Beatles song in there. We had music class today, and practiced all six songs. So many. I’m kidding. That’s just about the amount we do every year. But, besides that, during recess today, I learned how to do something new on the monkey bars. Now, I can move my hands along the sides of the monkey bars! Whoo hoo! See you all later. Bye!

A Lot Has Happened…

Whoo! I’m back. Sorry! There have been a lot of things going on lately. It’s always best to start from the beginning. Okay, so a couple weeks ago, I had my karate promotion. You don’t know what that is? Okay. I’ll tell you. A karate promotion is when you get your new belt in karate. In my case, an advanced purple belt. That’s my seventh belt now. Even though I’ve done it so many times before, it’s always really complicated. The advanced purple belt is also the highest belt in my class right now. So, yeah. That was a long evening, but it was all worth it. Also, today I became a Cadette in Girl Scouts. You don’t know what that is, either? Well, okay. A Cadette in Girl Scouts is the fourth level in Girl Scouts. First, it’s Daisies, then, it’s Brownies, then, it’s Juniors, and then, it’s Cadettes. There are two more, but I forgot what they are. But anyway, we had a big ceremony, and then a party to celebrate today. Alright. That was a mouthful. See you later.
